via 中のひと。

Dear all,

Wikimania 2007, the third annual international Wikimedia conference will be held August 3-5 in Taipei, Taiwan at Chien Tan Overseas Youth Activity Center.

Both a scientific conference and a community event, Wikimania brings together members of various Wikimedia projects in order to exchange ideas, build relationships, and report on research and project efforts.

It also provides an opportunity for Wikimedians and the general public alike to meet and share ideas about free and open source software, free knowledge initiatives, and wiki projects worldwide.

Wikimania will be an interdisciplinary forum, where the enthusiastic community behind the Wikimedia projects and interested researchers and practitioners can meet to share ideas. Conference themes this year include Content and usage of the Wikimedia projects, Communities (social studies into / policies and practices), Technical infrastructure and MediaWiki, Policy including law and Access to Knowledge.

We expect an international audience of hundreds of people, and extensive media coverage. Last year's conference was held in Boston, Unite State, with more than 350 participants from 50 countries.
