本日の発見2: スアレス『形而上学討論集』5「個的一性とその原理について」

ルーマンの論文「個人なるものの個体性」では、スアレスへの参照が議論のキモに効いているわけです。ところでその箇所で参照されているのは、(著名なる5章ではなく)6章なんですよね。なんでかな? ・・・というのを、昔からちょっとだけ気にしつつも放置してあったのですが。
今回、参照箇所を確認してみたところ、なんと「6-6-14」というのは間違いで、この文章が登場するのは「5-6-14」なのでした。とほほほほ...

14. I say thirdly: The substantial mode, which is simple and in its own way indivisible, also has its individuation from itself, and not from some principle distinct ex natura rei from itself. This is made clear, for instance, in the union of form to matter, or of matter to form, which I assume, from what is said below, to be a substantial mode. Again in the subsistence of a simple [entity], and the same would be [the case] concerning existence, if it were a real mode of essence distinct ex natura rei from it. Accordingly, it is certain that the union which my soul has to my body now is numerically one and individual, both because it is something real and existing in reality and distinct ex natura rei from the soul, and also because it differs numerically and not specifically from the mode of union of another soul to its body. Therefore, it has its individual difference and, therefore, [it has] some intrinsic principle or foundation of that.
